HomePod: Half-Baked

Via Mac Stories:

One standout piece of news in today's announcement is that the HomePod's multi-room audio capabilities won't be available at launch, but instead will come later through a software update. This seemingly supports previous rumors that AirPlay 2's development may have been what led to HomePod's initial delay.

Update: The HomePod page on Apple's website confirms that not only is AirPlay 2's multi-room support delayed until later this year, but so is the previously demoed capability to have two HomePods pair together for offering stereo sound.

Not that I’m buying one (or more), but this is really pathetic, Apple. Why are you releasing half-baked devices and software?

Weekend Plans: 01.20.18

I’m currently sitting in my truck on a construction site, preparing to wrench on an elevator originally installed in the year 1970, and I got to thinking about my weekend plans. I’m pretty stoked about it! Here’s what’s happening:

Needless to say, but: 🙏🍺🍻😎

Having what seems to be a non-productive week with weight loss. This week is pretty much the same as last, as far as weigh-ins go, minus .5 pounds. I guess that's good. Hit a plateau, I suppose. I've heard this happens. Running is feeling great. Endurance is up. Overall, 👍. 🏃

Yvonne and I went to Stone World Bistro and Gardens on Saturday to pick up some bottles and try their take on the Impossible Burger (it was delicious). Also ran into a buddy of mine who's now a brewer at Stone.
❤️🍺🍔

Hit 50 pounds total weight loss yesterday, beginning my journey in October 2017. Not looking for praise, I’m just documenting the occasion. I’m still amazed I pulled this off. 🏃

It was a long day. Capped it off with a three mile run, a weigh-in of 206 pounds making for a 50 pound total loss since October, and some vegan buffalo wings with IPA. I’m going to bed, now.

Busy day yesterday. Walked 4.2 miles during the day at work alone, went non-stop for seven hours, and then ran three miles at home. Meetings in the evening. Bed at 9:00pm. Now it's 3:30am. I'm hungry, tired, and get to hustle again today. I'm ready for a couple of days off. 😴

The worst thing about the weekends for me at this point is not getting enough excercise. I do a bit more cardio than I normally do during the week, but it isn’t enough to compensate for the calories I burn during the day at work. I always gain some weight over the weekend.

I know I talk about running and weight loss a lot lately, and I know how that can be annoying to a lot of people, but I’m so excited about my progress. Goal was to lose 50 pounds by February, and I’m hovering at 45, lowest at 48. I’m just so proud of myself.
